This morning’s new moon joined Mercury at the midpoint of its retrograde, instructing new order to the redo’s and reviews of our earthly, material work. All the “re’s” are up for renewal. Revisit those incomplete projects, reassess the plans for achievement, revise the goals for 2017. This lunation also links up with the Mars-Neptune conjunction in Pisces – reworking the structure to overcome the uncertainty of our actions, along with taking responsible care during the remaining holidaze. And now, as Luna approaches Pluto, we are reminded that rebirth follows death.
24. Fu, "The Turning Point"
"The hexagram of the 11th moon, when the Winter Solstice brings the victory of light. The time of darkness is past. After a time of decay comes the turning point." Contemplations for the season of the Water element from the I Ching (Book of Changes).
Recent reality checks from stern Saturn has humbled our egos while a square from healer Chiron has reminded us of a tender spot that still lingers. But we’re in this together and no longer need to keep it inside. This lunation in Gemini offers a moment to communicate and share the information intuited from the Sagittarius Sun. Gemini-Sag is the axis of the mind - overthinking is an understatement. It’s time to rally the ideas that have been swirling around in our heads and regain perspective on our direction. We may have been feeling blocked but this full moon highlights choices and possibilities. Harmonious aspects with Mars, Uranus, and Jupiter encourages us to initiate action for change and growth. As full moons go, clear away what no longer serves to make space for insight and understanding.

A visionary New Moon in truth-seeking Sagittarius
What is your philosophy for living? What is the purpose of your journey? This new lunar cycle presents an opportunity for getting clear on your mission and vision statements. Know your beliefs, know your truth, 'know thyself.' You may question your path as this new moon squares the Nodes of Destiny but a conjunction with asteroid Goddess Juno may offer a partnership for support. Though the Archer points direct aim at distant goals, a square with dreamy Neptune can lure you into getting lost within your imagination. Confusion settles on 11/30 when the moon joins manifesting Saturn, who is waiting to build your vision, and shortly after joins Mercury who clarifies the message. As of now, ask for wisdom, understand meaning, remain optimistic. And 'to thine own self, be true.'
A Full Supermoon exalted in steadfast Taurus
We stand firm in our values. Immovable, unwavering. Solidity and stability ground these hooves into the earth. Determination is our strength – we will not be pushed or distracted. A Supermoon signifies lunar perigee, its closest position to Earth. This intensifies its fullness on our emotions and a culmination is revealed. An opposition with Lilith highlights the wild feminine’s demands to regain her power. A square with Pallas challenges us to prepare our strategy and plan of action. And a sextile with Chiron provides an opportunity to heal wounds. Tend to vulnerability with sensual comforts, find solace and peace in nature. The earth is fertile in Taurus, how will you sustain growth and endurance on your path?
Our Lung Qi is affected by how well we "hold on" and "let go." Keep yours flowing freely this Metal season with deep, full inhales and exhales. Use the 4-7-8 breathing method to reduce anxiety and stress. Slowly inhale through the nose for 4 counts, hold for 7 counts, exhale fully through the mouth for 8 counts. Repeat 3 times. Keep calm and Qigong!
An introspective New Moon in transformative Scorpio
In honor of Samhain, when the veils are thinnest, invite your spirit guides for messages from the other side. A conjunction with Mercury in Scorpio sharpens perception and increases receptivity so we may ponder deeper meaning. A trine with Neptune enhances intuition and psychic sense so we may tune into Spirit and channel messages from beyond. Search intently within your psyche and feel deeply with strong emotion as you sit in darkened silence. For only when we embrace darkness can we transform into light. In the dark of the moon is where we dive deeper, in the dark of the moon is where we unveil truth.

New Moon in Libra
On Friday, September 30, we welcome a new moon in Libra. This is the first new moon since the completion of the recent eclipse period in August and September, inviting us to set intentions and initiate the changes that were brought up over the past few months. Eclipses are powerful times when the Sun or Moon occults the other, creating a hole in the sky – a powerful vortex that thrusts us back onto our path if we have veered off course. With strong energy comes big change. Doors open, doors close. Stories end and new ones begin. People come, people go. Eclipse season always brings about momentum and transformation, when revelations come to light and events seem fated.
As new moons go, we are given the opportunity for growth and renewal. Libra – the scales, striving for harmony, balance, peace. The lover, evaluating our relationships, partnerships, the other. And the artist, appreciating and creating beauty with feeling. This lovely new moon receives support from expansive Jupiter and stabilizing Saturn, providing us with strong foundations and optimism as we grow our new path that the eclipses set forth.
Eclipses are powerful times when the Sun/Moon occults the other, creating a hole in the sky – a powerful vortex that thrusts us back onto our path if we have veered off course. With strong energy comes big change. Doors open, doors close. Things end, things begin. People come, people go. Eclipse season always brings about momentum and transformation, when revelations come to light and events seem fated. Most eclipse periods feature a New and Full Moon pair, but this season features three – invigorating even more activity and opportunities for growth.
We began on August 18th with the Lunar (Full Moon) Eclipse along the Aquarius-Leo axis, evaluating Me versus the Collective. We questioned our aspirations and wondered where our tribe was. We let go of friendships and goals we’ve outgrown. We searched for our creative mojo, asking how our light can best shine through, aiming for pride and appreciation.
Then came the Solar (New Moon) Eclipse on September 1st along the Virgo-Pisces axis of servitude and sacrifice. We may have drifted off into mystical ethers, we may have gotten lost in efforts to connect with the divine, we may have succumb to old habits and addictions. But we worked hard and endlessly, striving for mastery, purity, and order. We overcame doubt and asked how we could best be of service to others.
This Friday, September 16th, marks the last of three for this Eclipse period. We complete the process with another Lunar Eclipse in Virgo-Pisces; and as Full Moons go, it’s time to release what does not serve us. Let go of illusions, delusions, and fantasies. We are given a chance to dissolve unhealthy habits and let go of perfection. This is also the season’s Harvest Moon, which invites us to reap what we have sown and gather only what nourishes us. May our work from now on be a labor of love.
